Neapolitan~~

Doesn't it remind you of Neapolitan ice cream? Mmmmm!

I adore the new Elegant Lines embossing folder from SU. For this beauty I paired up Pink Pirouette, Chocolate Chip and the small circle is Pretty In Pink. Add a couple pink rhinestones and some ribbon, ta da! You can almost see where I lined this one to make writing on the inside easier. The sentiment is from Teeny Tiny Wishes!

When did you last send a card to encourage someone? Today's the day!

I promise to get back to my regularly scheduled blogging next week! With the Gran-baby and family being here for a week, and then a long week at work so far, I just have not had the energy to post this week. Club girls, I will be posting the composition notebooks and directions then!

Happy Weekend~~

Hallway Decor~~

Having lived in this house for just six months, and muddling through some major major life changes, dealing with the crisis of the immediate, and starting a new job with way more hours, I had not gotten to far with my decorating the new house. Finally, an idea came to me for my hallway, incorporating some new items as well as current things I own. Finally this weekend I did it!

With the decoration help of my 18 yo daughter, we hit Hobby Lobby and purchased just a few things. You may be asking yourself what this has to do with stamping. It does because I added in some new items from the Decor Elements catalog, basically the wall rub-ons!

The first two pictures are of my "naked" hallway.

Looking one direction....................

then the other. The floor plan is a wrap around, so behind that wall on the right is actually the kitchen! The walls may look white, but they are actually a Latte color. My wonderful hubby is a great and neat painter, so I owe that to him.

Now you can the finished project! I got the shelves and decorative items on the shelves at Hobby Lobby (50% off I might add!) The pic's of my family we took a couple years ago at Goldwater Lake. They turned out so great I will have a hard time ever taking them down.

Then around four of the pictures I added the rub- ons (# 116192 $5.95) for some more dimension, and I must say they were super easy to use, and they look awesome! Now my house is beginning to feel homey! I did add one more large Decor Elements rub-on, but I will show that photo in another post!
If you have been leery of the wall rub-ons, don't be. My neighbor got one of the larger ones with A LOT of lettering, and she said it was difficult due to all the letters. But the ones I used were pretty easy. I think the hardest part was getting it from one side of the backing to the other before we even tried to get it on the wall! Don't be afraid, just try them! They add so much for not a lot of $$!

Proud Mom~~

My daughter Kim is a creative girl. Recently she was in my craft room and an issue of Stampin' Success was nearby. She saw on the cover that they had made some cool sunflowers out of CS, using a Sizzix die I think, and she decided I had stuff she could use to make her own. This is the result!

She used a Word Window punch ( a lot!) a 3" circle punch by Marvy, SU's 1/2 in circle punch (a lot!) and a heart punch for the leaves! There is a circle on the front and back to hold things together, but she just went to town! I was pretty impressed! She later made a smaller one too with a 2" punch for the center. Together they are fantastic! She amazes me!

I hope you enjoy your Labor Day and that your weather is as lovely as mine will be! I have to work, but we have Friends coming over after work so that will be great!

Finished Tag~~

Well, it took me a few days, but here is the finished project! We used the Things I Love SS, the Jumble Alphabet set, Sizzix Two Tags die, circle punches, scallop circle punch, laminator, jump rings......whew! It was a lot of "new" for inexperienced stampers, but they did it!

The thought here was, "I love....shopping....chocolate....and Jesus!" We will see how the name tags do at retreat!

Enjoy your Labor Day weekend! Make it fun with Family and/or Friends! Next weekend my granbaby and his folks will be here.....I can hardly wait!

Crafty Fun~~

In a couple weeks the ladies at my church are heading to ladies camp! This is an event that happens each year in the fall, and it happens at the camp where I used to live! Always a good time!
Each year at camp there is a "name tag contest". This year I was asked to help the ladies create their name tags! It was fun and a treat for me too! Last weekend we got together at the church and I helped about a dozen ladies, come of whom had never held a stamp before, to create some darling name tags!

And I am realizing as I post this that I have yet to take a photo of the finished product, so I guess you will have to come back tomorrow for that~~~

We used punches, a cuttlebug, a laminator, ink, alphabet stamps and so on to play that day! Thankfully there were some "experienced" stampers there, including the pastors wife, to help me with those that were new!

The ladies enjoyed themselves and the name tags we made will be adorable, whether they win the contest or not! Tune in tomorrow for a photo of a finished name tag! Then late September, I will let you know how we did in the contest!

Goodbye Watercolor Wonders~~

Well, I can't promise not to use this set again, because I adore it! However, yesterday was the lat day to buy it! SO glad I did....

I must confess, I CASed this card almost completely from Julie Lacey! You can find it over on the Clean and Simple blog along with other samples for this sketch. I chose to add some more half back pearls from SU. These things are the perfect finishing touch to many things. Just a little bling~~

I used Certainly Celery CS, Chocolate Chip CS, Celer and Pink Pirouette markers, and the new Ribbon Punch all from SU. My pink ribbon came from my LCS.

Wednesday is half way to th weekend! What plans to you have for Labor Day? I don't think I have any yet, but I am working on it!
