Crayon resist 2~~

I discovered it is near impossible to get a good photo of glossy card stock! I didn't use my flash and I STILL got the glare.

For today's card I used the crayon resit technique again, paired with some sponging. IRL the colors on this card are far more bright and pretty. I stamped my image from Fifth Ave Floral with black Stazon ink, then gave it sufficient time to dry. After that I used a white crayon to shadow a few places on the flower. Then using SU's round sponges cut into 4ths, I applied color to the white panel. When you do this, the color does not stick where you have applied the crayon, it resists the color! What you end up with is a nice contrast and some optical interest.

I completed it with a greeting and some black CS for "pop"! You could easily bling this card up, but it was for club this weekend (hi girls!) and it was all about the technique this time!

I am getting ready to get a whole bunch or new goodies from SU......I love being a demonstrator and feeding my own habit! It is like Christmas when the boxes come! I can hardly wait to play with new goodies!

Clean and Simple~~

Clean and simple is actually a recognized style! If you haven't been to SCS 1000 times over the last year, you might not know this, but it's true. It just means those card that are cute, not overly anything, easy on the eye.

Today's card I CASed from the SCS gallery, but sadly I did not ear-mark the page. If you know the author, please let me know so I can give proper credit! I used SU's new Scallop Trim Border Punch (free with a Sale A Bration order) on the Certainly Celery edge, the card base is Barely Banana, Chocolate ribbon, and the stamp sets are Good Neighbors, and Whimsical Words from Sale A Bration!

These kind of cards are easy to put together and heep in your stash for times when you need something. Try some in different colors! Right now my "stash" is buried in a box.......so I am making more! Imagine the "stash" I will have when I combine them! Scary...........

Love on your kids this weekend! Do something fun with them..................

Crayon Resist~~

Today's card showcases a fun technique called Crayon Resist! I will be spotlighting this at Club this weekend.

There are several ways to do this and a few tutorials on SCS.

I decided to go monochrome for this one. You see here Tempting Turquoise CS and ink. The sentiment is from the SAB set called Whimsical Words! There are some fun ones in there! The DSP you see is also from the Flamingo pack by SU! The key to Crayon Resist is the glossy CS. It will not work on plain CS nearly as well!

Now head over HERE to see the tutorial, then check out the other types of resist tutorials also!

Pretty Pinwheel~~~

Today's card is another pinwheel made with Pink Flamingo DSP. I love the red and black together! Did you go to Darlene's site yesterday and try one? You should! They are super easy!

In the center of this pin wheel is a black brad. Yesterdays was a button. I ill admit that the brad here is to small, and the button balances out the wheel better. Keep that in mind when you make yours...........! The stamp set here is Teeny Tiny Wishes by SU! I love my SU products! I adore how they all work together. You can get ribbon, card stock, ink, DSP, buttons, and markers that all match! How many times have you tried to match up card stock and DSP or something like that, from you craft store, only to find the colors aren't quite right. SU takes care of that for you! Now that is fantastic!

Would you like a quick pic of my gran-baby? Of course you would.................
There is Logan for ya! He is such a doll! His little hands are often up by his face.....so precious. He is 2 1/2 weeks old now and has been rolling tummy to back for a week! No, I am not kidding! Thanks for sharing my joy!
Who do you know that needs encouragement? Send them a card today! Remember, the card itself is not the issue, they just need to hear from you! Just do it.....you'll be blessed!

gettin' my mojo back~~

It has been over a month since I have stamped! Oh the horror! The great news is that I didn't stamp because I was moving into a brand new house and new ministry for my husband! Our family moved on February 27th into our new home and we are loving it! I have a new craft room here and while setting it up is still in process, it is great!

I new my mojo would suffer in the packing, moving, un-packing process. What I didn't know is how quickly it would return! I was finally able to stamp on Saturday last week, and it sure felt good. Naturally I needed to go to some of my favorite blogs and SCS for inspiration, but it was easy to find!

Today's card is a pinwheel card! It was easy to make and used up some great DSP! Imagine the possibilities! This one is Cottage Wall DSP, paired with Orchid Opulence CS and Old Olive 1/4 inch gross grain ribbon by SU! HERE is a direct link to the tutorial on a great blog for you to follow! This is where I learned how and where I got my inspiration! Thanks you Darlene!

Gran Baby!

Introducing Logan Jeffrey Basham! This most precious and adorable baby was born March 6th at 4:19 AM. He weighed in at 7 lbs. 12 oz. He was a perfect 20 inches long at BEAUTIFUL! (if I do say so myself!)

I had the honor and privilege of arriving in San Diego in plenty of time to be there for his birth and stay through his first 6 days of life! What a joy! Congratulations to my beautiful daughter Krissy and her fantastic husband Chris on the birth of their first child! God is good!

Currently my craft room is completely in boxes as we moved just a week before Logan's birth. It may be a while until I can post cards and things here again. Give me a few weeks okay! (if you are even still out there at all.............)
