Soft Smells~~~

It's been a while since I held a new baby, but I remember.

They smell so sweet and make you smile before you even know it happened. The last new born I held was my grandson, just over a year ago. What a day that was!

I had just gotten up at 6 AM. I was having coffee with my hubby when the phone rang. It had been 6 days since I had moved into a new house and I was thankful that those 6 days had passed, because I knew when the phone rang, that it was for me! I knew Logan was on his way. Why else would the phone ring so early on a Friday morning!

I was right. After I showered, grabbed my bag and kissed my family, I drove the 6 1/2 hours to the hospital where (thankfully) we were all still waiting for him to be born. The rest is a blur, but I remember that first cry and the look on my daughter and her hubby's faces! Joy!

In light of my trip down memory lane, it is always good to have a few baby and sympathy cards on hand. This one was totally inspired from SCS! It uses the new A Slice of Life SS, some Pretty in Pink taffeta ribbon, CS and DSP. Very simple but less is more right?

PS I am lovin' the new taffeta ribbon by SU. I have it in several colors now. It ties nicely, is 3/8 inch wide and a pleasure to work with. Get some soon!

I find the best stuff in other's blogs! I was surfing around the other day and found THIS~. She kindly included directions which I printed out. I didn't understand a few of them, and I am pretty sure the measurement size for the top of the cup is off, but after I made a few simplifying changes, it was a snap to make! Credit for the original concept and idea all go to Sarah! Thank you so much!

I started with some confetti white CS and some Really Rust DSP. The stamped image is from A Slice of Life (hostess) and the pearls are SU! The fold is at the top of the cup. Don't you love it? I showed them off at work and they were a big hit! I will be making more of these for all my coffee lovin' friends!

Double Thanks~~

At my new job, one of the gals is expecting twins! Twin girls even! Double the fun right?

There was a shower for her this weekend, so in addition to her other gift, I made some thank you cards for her to use.

I used A Slice of Life set for this one and doubled the little jammies like her twins.

The cs is Pink Pirouette and Barely Banana (ret). The ribbon is from my LCS and the greeting is from Warmest Regards (ret.)

Just a simple straightforward card since I was making 10 of them, but I love the soft colors, very cuddly baby don't ya think?

Sometimes I am the most uncreative stamper there is. I am one heck of a copier though!


HERE is the link on SCS to the card I almost perfectly copied! I wanted to spruce it up a little with some striped ribbon, but the rest is straight up her design!

Stamps used: A Slice of Life (hostess from current mini) Happy Everything (ret.)

Punches used: 1 3/4 circle, Decorative Label, Pinking Hearts Border (inside).

CS used: Chocolate Chip, Pretty in Pink, white.

Ink used: black and Whisper White

I used SU Markers to color the jammie's. Then I popped up the image with Dimensionals.

There is a layer of CS on the front, and I thought about giving it some texture with the Cuttlebug, but decided against it. Now I wish I had or else popped it up with Dimensionals too. I think it needs a little something to make the layer more obvious.

Well, I am off to enjoy some more of the fantastic Arizona sunshine we have had the last few days. I intend to enjoy some of the sunshine from the window in my craft room too! (wink*)
